This was made for
smallfandomfest and posted here, graphics were made by me but images are from here.
Never did one of these fandom pimps before, unless you count me gushing about fandoms on my journal.... so without further ado, I give you:

What Is the Show About?
Takes place in present time (with flashbacks to past events). Basically, the US government has a secret prison system underneath a decommissioned missile silo in Cheyenne, Wyoming called The Pitt. The Pitt holds various death-row convicts that instead of actually dying are brought to the Pitt for illegal and unethical experimentation - usually in order to find ways to "cure" the inmates or try to figure out why they do what they do. But yeah mostly experiments. In the first episode that brings all are main characters together is when the Pitt explodes and MANY prisoners escape. The "Hunting Party" is the main cast trying to re-prison the escaped serial killers all over the US.
We currently have 2 seasons (10 episodes in S1, 12 episodes in S2), with the second one's finale airs on April 30, 2026.
Main Characters (don't worry no major spoilers!)

Bex Henderson (portrayed by Melissa Roxburgh) - an FBI Special agent and criminal profiler. She adopted Samantha, whom she (and Oliver) saved from a serial killer.
Jacob Hassani (portrayed by Patrick Sabongui) - a CIA agent that takes the lead of the main trio. He has four kids (3 sons, 1 daughter)
Shane Florence (portrayed by Josh McKenzie) - a Pitt prison guard, former marine, who joined the Pitt to find someone

Jennifer Morales (Sara Garcia) - Intelligence officer of the army
Oliver Odell (portrayed by Nick Wechsler) - Warden of the Pitt, former FBI agent and ex-partner of Bex

Ben Jones (portrayed by Quentin Nguyen-Duy) - a intelligence officer in the army that joins the Inmate Recovery Task Force starting in Season 2
Jonathan Peck (portrayed by Luke Forbes) - a mysterious associate that take over as the head of the Inmate Recovery Task Force starting in Season 2
Now another important character is Eve Lazarus (portrayed by Kari Matchett), a high-ranking Army Colonel, but her storyline is kinda important and spoilery for the series so I won't go into details here. There is also Dr. Henry Dulles (portrayed by Matt Frewer), a former lead researcher at the Pitt.
Now obviously the above characters are our main characters we follow, but each episode of the series focuses also on the various prisoner escapees, so there are various guest stars. In season 1, we got David Ramsey, Janet Kidder, Kevin Corrigan, and Eliza Coupe. Starting season 2 we got a few major names such as Eric McCormack, Kelsey Grammer, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Piper Perabo.
Somone created a Wiki for the show so if you want more details.
If you liked...
Mindhunter, Fringe, Criminal Minds, The Blacklist, and various other similar cop related shows, you'd probably enjoy this show. It's filled with light and dark moments.
Where can I find it?
The Hunting Party currently airs on NBC on Thursdays, but you can find all the episodes on Peacock and I believe the NBC app/website. Season 1 is available on Netflix, at least in the US, not sure where else.
The Fandom?
Well, very small sadly - which is why I really need more people to like it ;) As of April 19, 2026, there are only 45 fics at AO3, and tumblr has a handful of people that makes mostly gifs for the show - all very pretty & I recommend looking at. I made lots of icons though (with plans of more happening eventually), as far as I noticed I may be the only one who did so far.
Because the fandom is so small, there isn't a lot of fanworks but I think the major shipping is focused on Bex/Shane, Bex/Jacob, and Bex/Oliver. If you happen to like OT3s I think you would especially like Bex/Jacob/Shane (which has it's own community at Tumblr - which is actually the first Tumblr community I joined!), but maybe that's just me (I love the moments when they bond the most). So far there's not a lot of femslash, but I really like the idea of Bex/Jennifer. So while there is a small main cast (and only a couple canon couples), I feel like everyone is very shippable.
