1: Are there any fics that you wanted to leave multiple kudos for, and were disappointed when you could only leave one?
Spelling mistakes, switching POVs, stuff stated above. Grammer depending on how bad. Not using quotes or '' for dialogue, for big long ass paragraphs of combined dialogues between characters.
So many, honestly... probably too many to name. But definitely the stories I bookmarked at AO3 and hell I'll even say my favorites over at FFN even though I haven't really touched that site in years. I've been very actively reading a lot of Darcy Lewis focused pairings off and on, so basically everyone in the darcyland community (seriously you guys have kept me going through the days/last few years).
2: Coffeeshop AU or soulmate AU?
Soulmate AU always. I think the MCU fandom introduced them to me really, I honestly can't remember them being introduced in any fandom at large until then. Or maybe I'm blocking them out. Honestly I tend to skip the coffeeshop AUs/tattoo AU and a lot of other ones. I find myself always falling back on looking for them other than the Alpha/Omega ones. ;D
3: Slowburn or established relationship?
Probably more slowburn, because there is usually more to read of the story. Although depending on how many chapters, I might end up losing interest... But I don't mind established relationships.
4: Has a fic ever made you cry?
Uh duh... maybe not full blown crying like some movies/shows have, but definitely some tears and snotty noses have happened. Probably more so within the last year or so, but that might because I've been more depressed and easier to cry.
5: What category of fics do you read the most? (angst, fluff, etc)
Fluffy comedic stories or smutty well plotted stories are my go to honestly. I'll read angst but only if the plot sounds good.
6: What’s your least favourite fanfic category?
.... depending on what you mean, probably gen fics? with like no pairings... I'm usually reading some sort of pairing that I love.
7: Would you rather read a plot-focused fic or PWP?
I prefer mine PWP with plot or accidental plot, lol. Or maybe I've gotten spoiled lately. But it honestly depends on the what's happening - sometimes people go too much plot and I lose interest, and sometimes it's just too much the other way. I guess I like a good mix.
8: How many private bookmarks do you have?
None? honestly with the last few years I haven't really kept track, and I tend to forget to bookmark them. I started a tumblr to rec things but there's only a handful there.
9: What are your favourite ships to read fics for?
This varies depending on what I'm in the mood for, or what I'm obsessed/focused on so week to week or day by day changes. But lately:
- Darcy Lewis/Steve Rogers & Darcy Lewis/Bucky Barnes (or even Darcy/Steve/Bucky) of MCU
- Hermione Granger/Draco Malfoy or Hermione/Fred Weasley of HP
- Lucy/Cooper of Fallout
- Buffy/Spike of BTVS
- Sherlock/Molly of BBC Sherlock
10: Have/would you read a reader-insert fic?
Nope. Never. Can't do it.
11: Ever read guilty pleasure fics?
All the time... honestly.
12: First-person or third person fics?
Third person preferably, but I don't mind first-person too much. It's when it alternates with more than the two protagonists that I get completely turned off (unless it's with a threesome pairing which would make more sense to have 3 POVs...).
13: Do you read author’s notes usually?
Used to always do so, lately not so much....
14: What’s your favourite AU setting?
Soulmates. Alpha/Omega. Depending the genre Modern or Victorian/Regency. Canon Divergence is technically my most common... especially fix-it fics for canon character deaths or events.
15: Do you usually leave comments on chapters/fics?
I try, but I'm not as good as I used to be... same thing with bookmarking things.
16: Fix-it fics or AU fics?
Fix-fics for the most part, AU is close second.
17: Canon-compliant or canon, what canon?
Depends on the fandom and what pairing I'm looking for. Like for HP, if I'm reading for Hermione/Fred, obviously Fred Lives is an important thing. For the MCU, Steve staying in the present/Tony not dying/Darcy being thrown into more canon stuff.
So both honestly.
So both honestly.
18: Have you ever read fics you would not confess to reading?
Probably...
19: Undercover AU or college AU?
Probably neither? Depends how good the summary is that draws me in. Uncover might work if it includes fake marriage/fake dating I like that one. If the teens are already like late teens/early twenties, I'd be ok with a college au like for Bellamy/Clarke of The 100 fandom.
20: What something that immediately makes you exit out of a fic?
Spelling mistakes, switching POVs, stuff stated above. Grammer depending on how bad. Not using quotes or '' for dialogue, for big long ass paragraphs of combined dialogues between characters.
