In 2024:
I Read: how many books in 2024? 81 (according to Goodreads, but I think there was at least four I may have DNF & reviewed, I did also start a bunch of books I did not finish & did not review yet on Goodreads)
My Reading Goal: did you have a goal, and how do you feel about it? End goal was 100, but I always start at 25 & if I pass that, go up by 25... So I did do past 75 but kinda gave up throughout the year at various times (mainly because I couldn't focus enough to read? Or just wasn't feeling it).
I Challenged Myself: did you do any reading challenges? how did you do? did you like it? I did join a bookclub for the first time and I absolutely loved it (minus the books that got picked, they ended up being fairly terrible) but it was nice doing something with people again. Sadly the bookclub broke up so I'm not part of any anymore.
A New Genre I Attempted: did you try a new genre, and if so, how did you feel about it? I'm usually more intro romance genre (and the various subcategories of those plus Marvel/DC graphic novels) but we did try a more Fantasy-focused genre in the bookclub (Book: The Priory of the Orange Tree) which I absolutely hated. Not for the fantasy aspects but more for the too much details that don't matter and way too many point of views - it was just too much for me. I was doing the audio version say maybe that was why but I just won't try that one again.
An Author New-to-me in 2024 I Really Enjoyed: Lana Ferguson, Elle Rivers, Natalie Cana, and Anita Kelly
My Favorite Book of the Year: Tie between 10 Things That Never Happened by Alexis Hall and Funny Story by Emily Henry
Books I Read in 2024 That I Recommend: Contractual Obligations by Elle Rivers, Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly, The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare, A Proposal They Can't Refuse by Natalie Cana, Text Book Romance by Kristen Bailey, and Best Laid Plans by Roan Parrish (plus all the Alexis Hall and Emily Henry books which I have also read and really enjoy)
In 2025:
My Reading Goal: do you have a goal, and how do you feel about it? I'm going to start with 25 and hope to get 100. I mostly want to tackle my in-house TBR pile & maybe do some fun reading challenges.
I'm Going to Challenge Myself: do you plan on doing any reading challenges? Not sure... there's a Book Bingo that I like the idea of (I did substitute a few prompts). See if there are any other book clubs I could maybe join.
My TBR List: do you have one for 2025? how long is it? any plans? 1051 according to Goodreads.... lol. Sooo hopefully I'll tackle the ones I actually have in my house first.
Books I'm Especially Interested in Reading in 2025: Tackling my Marvel & DC books I haven't read already would definitely be amazing. But I'd say tackling at least at least 5-10% of my TBR pile would be amazing.
A Book Coming Out in 2025 That I'm Excited About: n/a (probably any books from authors I enjoy but I haven't looked)
